Refunds and cancellations
How to cancel, what happens to your plan, its add-ons and your links, and why nothing is refunded.

1. Cancelling
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from Billing in the console, or by writing to help@brevily.com. Anyone in your organisation who can manage billing can cancel. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan, and every feature on it, stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for; then your organisation moves to the Free plan. Until that date you can undo the cancellation from the same page.
2. Changing plan
- To a dearer plan: Dodo Payments charges the difference for the rest of the current period, pro rata, and the change applies as soon as that payment goes through; if it does not, the plan stays as it was.
- To a cheaper plan: the change applies at the end of the current period. You keep the dearer plan until then, and the difference is not refunded. Until then you can keep your current plan instead.
- No free trials: a paid plan is charged from the day you choose it. The Free plan is there to try the service first.
- Your add-ons move with you where the new plan sells them, up to its maximum; the rest end with the old plan.
3. What happens to your links
Nothing breaks the moment you cancel.
- Links on a Brevily short domain keep redirecting on the Free plan, as long as someone in the organisation signs in at least every 180 days.
- Links on your own domains keep working until the end of the period you paid for. If the plan you move to includes fewer own domains, you choose which stay by then; if you do not, the ones with the most active links stay. The others show a neutral "not active" page. Their links and click history are kept, and they work again if you move to a plan that includes them.
- Click history the new plan no longer shows is hidden at once, and deleted 30 days later. Moving back to a plan that shows it before then shows it again.
- You can export every link, and its daily click totals, as CSV from Organisation › Settings › Your data, at any time.
On the Free plan (a paid plan never sleeps while it is paid), an organisation that nobody signs in to for 180 days is put to sleep: its links answer "not in use", and 90 days later they are released: a back-half you chose can be taken by someone else, a generated one is never used again, and where each link pointed is deleted. Signing in before then wakes it, and the owner is emailed before each step.
4. Refunds
We do not refund payments, in whole or in part. That includes:
- the rest of a period after you cancel;
- the difference when you move to a cheaper plan;
- an add-on you lower or remove, which takes effect at once;
- a top-up you did not use up, or that ended with its months.
Every checkout asks you to confirm that you want access straight away and that, once supplied, a purchase cannot be withdrawn from or refunded. Where you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, that confirmation is how the 14-day right of withdrawal ends for a digital service that starts at once. Your receipt repeats it.
Nothing in this policy takes away a right you have under the law where you live that cannot be excluded by agreement.
5. Add-ons, top-ups and the grace
- Recurring add-ons add to what your plan includes, such as own domains, seats, mobile apps or shared reports, and renew with it each cycle at their price a month (twelve times it on a yearly plan). Raising one is charged for the rest of the current period and applies at once; lowering one applies at once and is not refunded. Lowering own domains below the ones in use asks you to choose which stay; lowering seats below the people in the organisation holds the newest of them out of the console (never the owner or the admins) until a seat is free again; they are told whom to ask.
- Top-ups raise one monthly allowance (links, destination edits, conversion events or deliveries) for one, three or six allowance periods, paid once, at least US$5.00 a checkout. What a top-up adds is not carried into another period, and it ends with its months.
- The grace. Past a monthly allowance, a paid plan lets 10% more through (the grace; the Free plan has none), and past the grace a new use is refused until a top-up adds more or the allowance resets. A use in the grace is never charged.
- Redirects are not metered; traffic that looks automated or abusive may be suspended under the Acceptable use policy.
6. If a payment fails
If a renewal fails, your plan keeps working while Dodo Payments tries the payment again, and the organisation's owner is emailed once with the date it will move to Free. If it is still unpaid 30 days after the first failure, the organisation moves to the Free plan: the Free plan's limits and rules apply from then on, its add-ons end, and own domains Free does not include are parked. Links are never released straight from a paid plan. Paying again, with a new checkout of any plan, brings the plan back.
7. Who charges you
Paid plans, add-ons and top-ups are sold through Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. Dodo Payments takes the payment, adds the sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you are, and issues the invoice. Prices on this site are in US dollars, before that tax.
If a receipt looks wrong, write to help@brevily.com with its number before you dispute the charge with your bank.
8. The Free plan
The Free plan has no charge and nothing to cancel. Your organisation's owner can delete it from Organisation › Settings › Your data; it is deleted 30 days after the request, and the request can be withdrawn until then.
